Messerschmitt Bf-110G-2 1943 The famous "Dachshund" Wing (13 (Z)./ JG 5
Im Februar 1943 rüstete die 13.(Z) des Jagdgeschwader 5 (Z für Zerstörerstaffel) auf die neue Variante Bf-110G-2 um, die Maschinen erhielten die Kodierung "1B" mit einem Folgebuchstaben und dem Staffelbuchstaben "X". Das Staffelwappen des Dackels mit der russischen Maschine im Maul, der Dachshund prangte auf beiden Seiten des Bugs. In February 1943 the 13th (Z) of Jagdgeschwader 5 (Z for "Zerstörer", Destroyer or heavy Fighter) was refitted with the new Bf-110G-2 and the Planes received the "1B" Code together with a Letter for the Plane and the Wing letter "X". The "Dachshund" or Basset with the Russian plane in his mouth was painted on both sides of the bow.

The Plane was painted in RLM 74-75-76 Camouflage pattern with a darkened fuselage paint in RLM 71/74. The Plane numbering Letter was now already framed with Yellow Border. Die Maschine hat das schwarz-gelbe Rumpfband der Jagdverbände des JG 5 der Reichsverteidigung und ist mit RLM 74-75-76 Tarnmuster bemalt. Die II./JG 5 sollte weiterhin Küstenschutzeinsätze in Norwegen fliegen und bestand im wesentlich aus Jagdmaschinen vom Typ Bf-109. One of the last Bf-110 G2 in Norway reassigned to the newly formed IIed Group of JG 5. The Plane was painted in RLM 74-75-76 and the RVT Ribbon in black-yellow colour of JG 5 was applied on the Tail of the Plane. The Task of IIed Group was still Protection of the Coastal Borders of Norway.
